Cholesterol & The Perspective Of Demetrios Gabriel

By Katie Arden

One of the biggest health problems surrounding people - kids included - today has got to be cholesterol. It is an element that can be lowered or elevated through the type of foods that are consumed as well as the level of physical activity that is taken on a daily basis. What are some of the specifics to consider about cholesterol, in general, though? I am sure that Demetrios Gabriel will be able to offer a different perspective on this matter, as I am sure many will attest to.

There was a report posted on Medical News Today and it went into detail about how children seem to be suffering from tremendous amounts of cholesterol. The American College of Cardiology posted results from research done and it was shown that one out of every 3 children in the US - within the 7 to 9-year-old bracket - have high cholesterol or close to said level. As you can imagine, this can cause serious problems down the road. The most common problems linked to cholesterol are those which are rooted in the heart.

It was also said, in the article, that boys seem to be far likelier to build higher levels of cholesterol than girls will be able to do. Obesity was also talked about, which I think is an important topic when given just how prevalent it has become in this day and age. It's not out of the ordinary to see children shy away from physical activity in favor of staying stationary with whatever technological device is the trendiest. Cholesterol can be maintained, though, as Demetrios Gabriel will tell you.

If you are looking for ways to better maintain cholesterol, authorities the likes of Gabriel Pediatrics can support the idea of taking screenings. If children are able to go about this, both they - as well as their parents - will have a better understanding of what is needed as far as health is concerned for the future. Demetrios Gabriel will also tell you that food can play a big role, so dietary changes are recommended. This is one precautionary measure that, in my view, will help to keep cholesterol at a more normal level.

It goes without saying that cholesterol stands as a tremendous problem in the society that we live in today. As tremendous as it might be, though, I do not think that it is one of those subjects that cannot be changed at all. In my view, it's just a matter of making sure that the best food is taken in and the appropriate amount of physical activity is seen from day to day. Regardless of what the case may be, cholesterol can be changed for the better.
